Breathwork and Meditation
These two modalities are pillars of a rock-solid foundation. Breath is often overlooked and underestimated because it is simple. Often the simplest is the most profound.
There are many ways to cultivate a slower, deeper, more extended breath that sends a direct message to the body to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to relax. That message calms the body and clears the mind instantly. It is a superpower.
Mastering the breath is a daily self-care practice, and when done consistently, it becomes more of muscle memory so that in times of need, it is more accessible with no conscious thought needed. The breath anchors us into the present moment, a mindful practice that allows us to linger a little longer in each moment’s pivotal point of power.
Meditation pairs well with the breath, as most everything does, and gently guides us back home, connecting us with our higher self and wisdom that daily noise and chaos in life usually drown out. In these quiet moments is when we become the observer, the watcher of our thoughts, that over time leads to heightened Awareness and Mastery of the mind.
Yoga and Reiki
The living body radiates warmth and energy, and this energy is the life force itself. In Japan, Ki is a term for energy, and “Reiki” is named from this word. The word Reiki represents two Japanese words: Rei, which means “God’s wisdom” or “Higher Power,” and Ki, which is “life force energy.” The energy comes from the highest, most sacred source and, therefore, cannot cause harm or be done incorrectly.
Reiki refers to both the spiritual and energetic healing and energy itself. Reiki offers a non-invasive way to promote health, healing, and wellness of the body, mind, and spirit by rebalancing, recharging and realigning the human energy fields. A light touch facilitates this energy healing technique on or above the body by a Reiki Practitioner.
